Lounge N Lax was invented for my baby boy to prevent him from perspiring in his winter attire. There were no infant caps on the market to regulate his body temperature so I, Karen Hannon created a functional hat that whisked away moisture and thought it would be great to have matching pants and thus became the beginning of Lounge N Lax. This all started with an idea and keeps growing,
While going through the patent phase, I saw a St. Jude infomercial and realized the Lounge N Lax Brand could benefit children with cancer so I designed the Comfort Line which consists of a functional hat that regulates the body temperature and camouflages baldness due to the side effects of chemotherapy, matching lounge pants for comfort, a stuffed toy with matching hat to cuddle, shirts and robes to fit the child's medicinal ports, and a carrying bag to store their belongings during their stay at the hospital.
The wise decision was to establish a foundation to meet the needs of children with cancer, have an exclusive product line for them, donate the products to children's hospitals, continue to expand the brand, and make the foundation the sister organization to my profit company, Xaydon LLC, which is derived from my children's names Xandra and Aaydon.
We have expanded our programs and campaigns by incorporating fashion with dogs. The Childhood Cancer is RUFF Campaign has broadened the growth of LNL Foundation by fashion assisting in raising self-esteem levels and dogs providing emotional support. The campaign also has the Childhood Cancer is RUFF Streetwear merchandise to be worn by the entire family including the dog to raise awareness for childhood cancer all year round.
